DESCRIPTION:NYRR Kurt Steiner Cross Country (1 Mile & 5K)\nHeld in Van Cortlandt Park\, these races are part of the NYRR Youth Running Series. There will be two events on Sunday\, September 20: the Youth Running Series 1 mile (8-14 years) and the 5k (open to runners 10 years and older). \nStart on the west side of the Parade Ground\, opposite the Cow Path entrance. Run east across the Parade Ground and enter the woods on the cinder path at the Cow Path entrance. Run north on the path alongside the woods. For the one-mile course\, turn left and run across the path that runs south of the north end of the Parade Ground. For the 1-mile course\, continue on to the north end of the Parade Ground before turning left and running across the north end of the Parade Ground. The race finishes back on the west side of the Parade Ground\, just north of the start.
