January Schedule

The January schedule will focus on indoor competition with athletes utilizing the conditioning and skills acquired earlier in the season. There will be no Sunday practice sessions in this month because of meets, however, Wednesday practice will be held at PS 110. Most runners will participate in a series of three meets scheduled at the newly opened Ocean Breeze Athletic Facility on Staten Island.

The Ocean Breeze Track and Field Athletic Complex is a 135,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art indoor track and field facility in Ocean Breeze Park, Staten Island. The facility will become a premier destination for athletic events, drawing competitors from around the region. The elite-level hydraulically-banked competition track can convert from eight to six lanes and incline up to 4.5 feet. The facility boasts commanding views of the nearby Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and the Freedom Tower in lower Manhattan.

We will also participate in the 4th Annual YMCA Youth Indoor Track and Field Series to be held at the Park Slope Armory YMCA. This developmental style series will offer three Youth level meets beginning on January 3rd and continuing on alternating weekends, January 17th and 31st. The events will vary with each meet

Training will continue to help develop overall physical capacity and fitness, however specific focus will be on competition skills and addressing any areas of challenge or deficiencies.
