Track Update 11-01-12

We hope you all weathered the storm safely. It has been a trying time for our neighborhood, to say the least. As a reminder, we will not hold practice this coming Sunday, Nov. 4 (due to the NYC Marathon, which we are both still planning to run). Here is additional information you need to know:

NYC Marathon Cheerleading
A few families will be walking across the Williamsburg Bridge Sunday morning, to cheer us on (at about Mile 11). Some of you have indicated a willingness to participate, if you would like to join the crowd, please confirm or let us know.

Indoor Practice
We are working on securing indoors space for our Wednesday evening workouts, since the track will be dark at 5:30 beginning next week, with daylight savings coming to an end. Sunday workouts will continue at 9:30 am at the track, weather permitting.

NYRR Youth XC Invitational
Our next event will be the NYRR Youth XC Invitational, a 1.5-mile cross-country run in Van Cortlandt Park, The Bronx, on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 8 a.m. It’s a beautiful place to run, and a really wonderful event. Many of our families enjoyed events there last season.

NYRR Youth XC Invitational Logistics
Below is a list of runners for whom we already have signed release forms. If your child’s name is listed below and you know you will NOT be attending, please let us know; otherwise you are all set and we’ll assume your child is participating.

If your child wants to run and his/her name is NOT on the list below, please let us know by Sunday, Nov. 4, and then print and fill out the release form, and return it to Lydia by Monday, Nov. 5. If we don’t hear from you by Sunday and receive your signed release form by Monday, we will assume your child is not running on Nov. 18.
